Using Turnitin with My eLearning Vista

Obtaining an Account

No account creation is necessary when using Turnitin within Vista. There is no need to go to the Turnitin web site to set up anything, enrol students or receive reports, as these all happen automatically through the Turnitin link inside your Vista module.

Adding a Turnitin Submission Box to a Module

Within Vista the Turnitin tool is added to the module in the same way as other Vista tools. Once added to a Vista module, the link to Turnitin exists as a Turnitin "submission box" in the module, either on the homepage, on an organizer page, or inside a learning module.

Follow six quick steps to get started with Turnitin:

1. Inside your Vista Module go to the Basic View within the Build Tab and navigate to the page where you want your Turnitin link to appear. Alternatively create or go to an existing learning module. In the list of tools click on More Tools as shown below. This will reveal the link to the Turnitin Submission Box tool.

2. Click on Turnitin Submission Box

3. Immediately below it click on Create Turnitin Submission Box

4. Give the Turnitin assignment submission a title and click on the Create Turnitin Submission Box button

5. You will be presented with the Turnitin assignment settings screen.

6. After configuring your settings click the Submit button at the top of the Turnitin Assignment settings screen and your Turnitin assignment submission box will be placed into a learning module or into an organiser or home page with the icon shown below.

To edit the assignment submission box settings go to the Teach tab and navigate to the submission box link.
