Lectopia ServiceThe Lectopia system enables automated digital recording of lectures based on a supplied schedule that can then be accessed via streaming media over the web or available as Podcasts if enabled, and can also include PowerPoint presentations. Other files such as PDF's and Word Documents can also be uploaded. Announcements25 August 2009 - Audio Problems in ASB-216 have been resolvedAfter inspecting ASB-216, Venues and Events have discovered there was a faulty audio cable in the venue. This fault prevented lectures picked up by the microphones from reaching the Lectopia digitisers during the recording process, resulting in silence in the recordings. V&E have now replaced the cable and service in this venue has been restored. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you are a lecturer who wishes to use this venue please contact Venues & Events to be moved back into the room, and contact IT Service Centre to have your recordings rescheduled. 29 July 2009 - Changes to available formats - Now Flash and Podcast OnlyAs of the beginning of Session 2 2009, new Lectopia recordings are being released as streaming Flash files and podcast downloads only. Streaming Windows Media and QuickTime formats are no longer being used. To properly play these files please be sure you have the most recent Adobe Flash Player installed on your machine. Session 2 2008 - Lectopia Now an Opt-Out ServiceLectopia from S2 2008 is now in 'Opt Out' mode as per Academic Board Resolution AB06/166 This means that if classes are scheduled in a Lectopia enabled venue, the classes will be scheduled for recording automatically, UNLESS the instructor 'opt's out'. Opting out of recording for ALL current and future recordings, or for selected courses only, is controlled via the Lectopia Self Service Wizard. Session 2 2008 - Lectopia Self-Service Tool now availableThe Lectopia Self Service Tool is now available. Logon with your staff ID and UNIpass and you can double check or change recording schedules, enable Podcasting, change the NSS cohorts who have access to your courses if private, or make your course publically accessible. More information and support for this tool is available here. Timetable SchedulesThe Timetable schedules will be supplied to Learning & Teaching at the beginning of O-Week and will contain room allocations and schedules current up to that date. If your lectures were moved after this date, please update the schedules for your course via the Lectopia Self Service Wizard or request the change via Servicedesk. PodcastingPodCasting, the ability to subscribe to lecture recordings, is available as an option. Those who wish to have podcasting enabled for their lectures should advise the servicedesk when making their schedule bookings that they wish it activated, or enable podcasting in Lectopia Self Service Wizard. Copyright issues are different between streaming and downloadable content, and this should be considered when making the decision. If in any doubt please email the Servicedesk for advice. Video RecordingVideo recording is currently available for special requests/events Screen Capture (Video) recording is now available for CLB theatres! If you have a course in CLB, you can add an option to include screencasting in the Lectopia Self Service Wizard. For more information on this please see the tutorial on the Self-Service Tool: Add/Edit Booking page of this support site. Please note: Due to upgrades to the equipment in CLB 1, 2, 3, and 4, screencapture in these venues has to be configured by Service Desk rather than through the Self-Service Tool.
